I won't have internet on the anniversary of Chris's actual birthday, so I thought I'd post this early. This is a poem I wrote earlier this year. I hope it brings back some happy memories. It did for me. Peace to all.

Cousin Chris
Glasses beaming
Smile gleaming
Star Wars toys
Tons of boys
Mile a minute
You got in it
Your next plan
Kick the can
Ice cream cones
Indi Jones
Summer nights
Riding Bikes
Hide ‘n Seek
Life’s a beach
Friend to all
Music called
At the keys
You did please
Cars of blue
Gilly, too
Let it be
Why can't we?

As it turns out, I do have internet access at the beach (where I am on vacation). So much for being anonymous. Curt, thanks for keeping my secret, even if it was just for a day or two. I wrote the poem as part of a project I was working on in July. It is the first time since Chris's death that I've been able to write about him. I'm glad so many of you enjoyed it.

Best,
Abby Gemme

P.S. Gill figured me out with the line "cars of blue" because Chris would say I always laugh at anything. He'd then say, "Hey, Ab--Car, blue" and I would laugh uncontrollably.
